Blueberries

Blueberries have been growing in popularity for years and this is plain to see on the fruit shelf. As a result of various health claims, consumer popularity has increased significantly. They taste fresh and sweet and have a crunchy bite. The colour is dark blue to purple-black, with a matte skin and transparent flesh.
In addition, strawberries are rich in fibre, helping to control blood sugar levels, as they increase the feeling of satiety, reducing calories ingested and favouring weight loss. They are also rich in potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure.

Growing and harvesting
We source our blueberries from different parts of the world. They grow the fastest in Peru, where they can be harvested within a year of planting. In other parts of the world, this takes two to three years.
The berry bush is part of the heather family and can reach a height of about two metres. Blueberries grow in clusters. Harvesting is done carefully by hand. The berries are sorted for quality and size. After packing and cooling, the pallets are sent straight to Berries Pride.
Our strawberries are always carefully picked by hand. Each fruit goes straight from the plant into its consumer packaging. After the quality selection, the packaged strawberries are placed in transport boxes and immediately sent on their way to Berries Pride.
